Birthday presents!

I love giving out presents. I think carefully about something the person might like and go on my way looking for it. I have already started thinking about Christmas and just yesterday thought of the perfect present for my best friends little boy. I believe gift vouchers or money, unless asked for is a "I can't be bothered taking the time to think about something to get you and then going to get it".

Ashton's birthday is on the 21st July, it was his first birthday and PIL didn't even bother coming to see him. The next day she rings at 4.30 asks if he is awake and when I answer no he is asleep she says well we will just have to see him tomorrow, I thought his birthday was yesterday. AND truefully I always get the shits with them because they turn up at tea time every time, it annoys James to because it means we are running around trying to get the kids fed, bathed and dressed and into bed on time. BUT he won't say anything. They will even stay for 45mins when they can see I have tea ready and its 7.30 for god sake. Anyway back to the point.

They finally come the following day and what do they get him?A toy, no way! Clothes, no way! They bring a card with $50 in it. Wow he can do a lot with that. Yes its something and many people get nothing, she tells me he doesn't need toys you are to buy clothes for him with it. So why didn't she go buy him clothes? BECAUSE she can't be bothered!!! And by the way he soooo doesn't need clothes he is the 2nd child so has ALOT!

Then it is my birthday on the 30th July. I get asked this week "Mum wants to know what you want for your birthday?" I say my birthday was over a week ago, its ok I don't want anything. He says she was going to get you some towels I say I have no room for the towels we have (she buys me towels every christmas). Yesterday she turns up 2 weeks after my birthday with towels for my birthday. She lives the whole 5 minutes drive away from us, she comes to town every day so is the whole 3 minutes walk for her to our place.

I know I am being a b!tch stop it and appreciate we got something. I would rather nothing (which DH gets) then to be an after thought. And I am mummy bear as she plays favourites with her own kids and her grandkids and I think that is so wrong, they may be to young to see it now but in 10 years time AShton and Zack are going to know that she drove 3 hours to see there cousins for there birthday but she didn't even bother to come see us the whole 5 minutes away from my birthday.

Quotes I love (that make me think of my kids)

Still waiting

I am STILL waiting on my computer and it is getting frustrating, beyond a joke really. I have had it in being fixed since June 30th, I ring them again today and sorry we are still waiting on the program to put on it. Once we receive it it will only take a couple of hours. SO in the meantime I have no computer. Here is something nice about the IL, Thank christ for their computer, that they don't know how to use without me. (Well it's my FIL's pc and there isn't many bad things I could say about him bc he is lovely)
